Does anyone know if you can plug a USB jump drive into the HF100 to store video? If you can hook up an USB external HDD (which I read somewhere that you can), won't a jump drive work as well? Then when I'm on vacation, instead of buying lots of cards or dragging around a PC, I can just download to the jump drive (which I already have), wipe the SD card, and shoot more video...
Thanks!

The HF100 has a mini USB connection, so I'm not sure that this would work for you.

Actually that's not a problem, because first I'm using the mini to standard cable. I then have a female to female usb cable I bought sometime back.
I doubt anyone's tried this, I'm just curious if it's theoretically possible...does the camera have to be connected to a PC, or can it also be connected to a storage device (such as an external HDD) for transference of data? I'm trying to pick this camera up and was just curious if it will do this...

No it won't work.
USB requires a master slave relationship. You would be connecting 2 slaves together.
There are what are called OTG (On the go) drives that can be master or slave depending upon who is connected to them. They are more expensive of course. You can google for these.
Not saying that this is the right product for you.
