Been to three sites where it talks about how to check and service the tubes. All the sites say something like "after removing the front cover" Skipping over how to remove the front cover. Which I can't seem to figure out.
Anyone have a tip on how to accomplish this step which apparently is so simple it requires no explanation?

After struggling over a half hour I knew that within a minute of posting I would figure out how to remove the cover on my own. Reach inside the cover on either side of the blue and red tubes and squeeze the large metal latch and it will hinge open and detach.
Hope that helps a future doofus.
But on a side note this allowed me to take off the lenses and the notorious glycol drained blue tube I have been writing about is beautifully as white as described. I can't even call it minty like my 1271. And he apparently only exposed a quarter to 3/8ths of the top edge of the tube. I am taking the lens off my 1271 blue as I seem to remember
all my tubes had sort of an air gap. I am wondering if its useable like this. I don't expect to get my glycol for three days or so. It was suggested to me it was okay to add distilled water to top it off but I'd feel more comfortable waiting for the glycol as I don't want to worry about mold or other wierdness. I probably only need an a tablespoon or two to fill the exposed area. At any rate I think I got a great buy for 800 bucks. And only a little over a hundred to ship this time and it came next day!
