Hi,
I've been reading through forums and surfing the net looking for ideas for my new house.
It has a media niche that sits 23 inches off the ground.

I have a Sony FD Trinitron 36" HDTV that is great so there is no need to upgrade to a flat panel.
At my old house, my tv sat on an entertainment center that was about 20" off the ground. As you can imagine, using this in the new house would put the TV too high for viewing comfort. So I am looking for ideas to put the AV equipment above the TV.
So far I really like the idea posted at avforums.com: (sorry I'm new and cannot post links)
How Too.. "DIY Floating Shelves" ..finally!.
I also like some of the OmniMount TRIA glass shelves:
I haven't found any photos or ideas on using either of these types of solutions above the TV so I thought I would turn to the forum for feedback and ideas. Do you think this idea would work.
I am also thinking of how I would earthquake proof this as I live in California, but don't think there is much to this - I can simply use straps to attach the equipment to the studs.
Many thanks in advance.
Brian
