Since retirement as former moderator I've had too much time on my hands, so I started collecting. (Sigh) I need a new hobby.:o

I think everyone should collect something..BUT..not sure about projectors? I dont see how you could use those on 1 screen? Maybe you should just send me one.

I have two more sitting in the closet, (but the resolutions are only 800 x 600).

The idea is to keep the lamp hours low by alternating projectors. There are certain strengths and features in each model, too. The Optoma EP910 is 3300 ansi lumens and designed for large 4:3 screen film content and photography; the Optoma TX1080 is 3600 lumens which is amazing for sports; the Optoma HD806 is stunning for HD broadcast and 1080p blu ray movies; The Epson TW600 is 720p for standard DVDs; the two Sony HS20 projectors that flank each side of the array have horizontal keystone and are pretty decent for HD and helps save burning lamp time on the other projectors when the content displayed is not critical (like those Lifetime channel movies that my wife adores).

You're clearly unmarried, or she doesn't love you.

She loves me all right. She's just codependent to my addiction.

As a projector owner, and self confessed gearhead, your ceiling is an abomination! :D The fact that you're still married is a miracle in and of itself. Some woman you have there!

In fact, during the course of the evening she will remind when it's time to switch projectors.

The front of the room doesn't look so bad.

Ahem!

It looks like you need a "sun" in the center for all your PJs to orbit around.

Your issues are for inside viewing. My problem is outdoor displays LOL

@Laurence

Wild thing!!!

My english is quite poor, then I'm explicit in gifs:
  :D

One question. Is it living room, or cinema room only? If first one, You are (with Wife) HEROES!!! ;)

The room is a dedicated HT about 14'x21'. The screen is a 4x3 Stewart Ultramatte 150
72" x 104".

BTW, I fabricated a DYI vertical masking system using inexpensive electric screens mounted above and below the main screen. The top masking screen surface is painted black using matte black Screen Goo. The bottom masking screen is simply the back side of the screen which is black. Pulleys and weights attached to each side assist the bottom masking screen.

Here are some pics of the masking system.

I'm just looking at these pictures, and have one thought. It is great solution for CIH (more than one PJ), one PJ for 16:9 and second for 2,4:1... At least, Panamorph lenses cost more than the 1080p PJ? :D

And one doubt, aren't you afraid that paint will peel off from rolled on/off screen?

The system has been working over two years with no problem with the screen paint. That Screen Goo is good stuff.

Good to know. Some people have problem with screen not exactly fitted to picture size (or using 4:3 screen for lowest price vs 16:9) and wandering of solution for borders...

OMG, Laurence, I thought I was bad for adding a second LED helper projector to save my bulb. You've have taken this to an all new level!

The masking system is great work!

The PJ thing is a bit much, but I understand the addiction.

I've been at this longer than many. Although upon upgrading I've sold a few over the years, I find I can't toss a good projector, so I kept them as backup. I decided to put them to use. The stacked array doesn't look bad in the back of the room. I kept the symmetry by staggering the optomas in a row and flanking the Sonys in a tight formation. Kinda like the Blue Angels. :D

Come on, tell the truth. You really just wanted a way to heat-up that room without turning on the heat-pump in the winter, right? ;)

That masking system is something else!

Do you have a diagram for how the pulleys work?

The idea is to keep the lamp hours low by alternating projectors. Is that to save money? With many projectors the depreciation is higher than the cost of using lamps.

Will fuses withstand such an amperage? :) :D
