I could REALLY use someone's help with this. I have a circa 2002 Dell running updated Windows XP/3. It was REALLY high end in 2002. I am trying to use it in the configuration I have attached here (the lines represent VGA cables). In a nutshell, I am trying to be able to project EITHER the Dell OR a laptop to the projector (the amp is a must - it's about a 75' run).

Anyway - the laptop works perfectly. However, every time I try to boot up the Dell, I get the "blue screen of death" critical hardware error. Running straight to the monitor, all is well. Run it to both..and...blue screen city.

HELP??? PLEASE???

Try the easy stuff first. Try to switch the inputs on both the switch box and the outputs on the amp. Then pull the switch box out and just run straight into the splitter. After that see what the max resolution settings are for the vga splitter. You might have a problem there with it not being able to do the resolution you want and cause a problem. And lastly google search the panic code and see what it might be from. Your video card up to date with drivers? Or roll back to a earlier more stable one.

Try those things see what you get.

Good luck!
