Just wondering if anyone knew how come I can playback HD video 24Mbs from my camera (Canon HF200) to my HDTV, but my computer cannot play back the videos smoothly (AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor QL-60 (1.9GHz, 3600MHz Host 4GB ram)

I don't really care for a solution, just more curious about how things are processed.

Does the camera have more processing power? Seems weird that the little camera can play back no problem, but my computers can't handle the truth!

Is the decoding in the camera built in hardware and computer is dealing with software, or is the harddrive accesss on a computer the bottleneck?

It also makes a difference as to what is your video card, media player and settings you use.
The camera is dedicated to playing the video, and the playing format is native to it, while a computer has to do more than just play the video.
