View Full Version : Having some trouble setting up surround Sony 4400ES

I have triple checked my connections and everything is good. I'm running a Sony 4400ES receiver with an attempted 5.1 setup. The only speakers I can get output from are the two fronts. I go into the Speaker Pattern setup screen and it shows the configuration correctly but the pattern says 3/2.1ch. I need it to read 5.1. I am fairly certain I saw it that way at the store.

So my center, my sub, and my rear/side surrounds are not working. I've been through the manual a couple of times but I have been unsuccessful finding the correct setting on the receiver. Any setup help is appreciated, thanks!

I have figured out everything now except I cannot get the sub to work. When I run auto cal with the mic every speaker has output minus the sub.

The sub is plugged in to AC power, and it is connected to the rear of the receiver at the sub output. The Sub settings are per the manual.

The receiver is set using Cinema Studio Ex A.
