My IN72 has 1295 hours on it. When I turn it on the display comes on like normal then after a few seconds the display flickers then the projector shuts down. The red light on top blinks 3 times. Has anyone had any luck diagnosing or fixing this problem?

Thanks,
Jeff

Usually, with Infocus that means a weak lamp or possibly a faulty ballast. Most of the time, it's a weak lamp. If you have another lamp for it, try it. If you get the same results, it's probably the ballast and would need to go in for service. Is it still under warranty?

At first I was thinking the lamp but then I read from another post that they replaced the lamp but it did not fix the problem. So I guess that leaves a weak ballast or power supply???

Just because it didn't fix the problem for someone else doesn't mean that is the case for you or anyone else. It may well be a weak ballast. But it still could be a weak lamp. That's why I suggested trying another lamp or putting your lamp in another projector. (same make and model)

Thanks Sheridan, that's true. I Checked with Infocus today and they said that it was mostly likely a weak lamp. Just fyi for others, they did state that if you purchase the lamp from them (at a cost of $400) and it didn't fix your problem you could return it for a full refund as long as you got it back to them within 15 days of receipt. I think I will just put that money into an entry level 720p like an Optoma 65.

You can find a lamp cheaper online, but not by much. Prices range from $300 - $350.
