The best way I can describe their sound is..... utterly transparent. Their ability to almost disappear in a room is astounding. In short, well worth the money at 10X the price. :p ;)

That is all.

I've heard them.

That is all.I have not and I don't really want to. The offered "specs" are too revealing.

I prefer my speakers to not sound so glassy in the high range. :p

If they fall over then that's all she wrote for your $10k+ speakers.

$10,000? More like $54,000........but they ship free, as noted above. :D

Isn't it generally agreed upon that once you pass a certain price threshold, you begin to pay less and less for sound quality and more and more for design and aesthetics?

I feel like sound quality can only go so high...and the added cost is typically in design of the speaker itself.

They are rather stunning looking, I will admit.

why do I have the suddne urge to mount some subs in the windows of my ht...(with the backs encased in "diamond glass" of course!!
they do llook interesting--probably a conversation piece for the individual who has nothing else to talk about
then again if I saw them at my local dealer Id probably be hard pressed not to give em a listen...

Its called diminishing returns. If each speaker pair cost $5000 to build - and they only sell 20 pairs per year - well - they are marking up the costs to the consumer by a factor of 10 or so to make profit.

I bought a pair of Emotiva 8.3s a while back - I doubt their profit is more than $300 or so each pair. But they damn sure will sell more than 20 pairs in a year.

Which sound better? The ones I can afford.

I like the goldfish idea, or maybe a terrarium?

i suppose you could fill half with oil and half with colored water and see the two ripple against each other when the bass hits! ;)

if the OP was serious, and is looking into high-end speakers that have that type of look to them, maybe look into Jamo's Reference line? maybe??

I bet the only instrument that failfully reproduce is the glass harp.

HEY! i just noticed something. there are speakers in those pictures! took me a while to see them

*cricket chirps*

awful jokes aside, if you look at the third pic down, is that a sub built into the wall, below that statue?? why would the company display thier product implying you need additional equipment?

EDIT: after looking at their products on the supplies amazon link, i can at least assume that is their companies (waterfall audio, that is) subwoofer. maybe the dual 8" one?

keep the bad jokes coming! this is great :) :)

im totally "that guy" too. how could you NOT listen, whether its to laugh or otherwise

I've heard them

if you were being serious, can you recall any memory of the sound/other equip used/etc

its funny, ive seen a lot of really cool stuff in this forum in the 6 months since ive joined, and of all things, i cant get this one out of my mind. isnt glass a speakers worst nightmare?? ive seen those extremely picky users on audiogon refuse to use glass coffee tables in listening rooms, and have nothing by windows etc

any input??
