No one talking about this game. Is everyone skipping it? Played the demo and it's not much better (if at all) than last years. Is EA just taking money this year?

Does NCAA Football ever get talked about much.. especially with Madden a month away.

I was thinking of picking it up over Madden but was going to wait to see what differences if any they had.

I am picking that shiz up. Most peeps that have it so far say that it is the best college football version to hit the 360. I am hoping that is the case.

i usually put this down when i get madden so im getting madden first... sucks that NFL Head Coach isnt coming out

I got last years version and from what I have read so far, there is not enough differences to warrent a buy this year. Hopefully next year will be really excellent (yeah I say that every year about it being excellent, but last year I took the plung so unless it really is excellent no need to upgrade).

Of course I do think the coolest edition to this year is the crowd. When a team is getting spanked they will actually go home. Every year a few people get it early and post about it being the best one yet, and every year it eventually gets panned as the bugs and exploits rear their heads. I'm tired of getting fleeced by EA so I'm passing.

EA dropped the ball on this one. I sure hope Madden isn't this bad. At least Fight Night turned out great. Maybe the recession bug has hit them too?

The slider patch for the PS3 dropped yesterday, 360 patch not expected until next week. It makes the game a lot better than its release version.

The sliders now work on pretty much an absolute scale. If you put QB accuracy at zero, it's likely the QB will complete zero passes. And if he does complete one, it will be to an unintended receiver because the ball misses his intended target by 10 yards.

Houston we have a pass rush. Yup, as hard as it is to believe, the sliders for "pass rush" and "pass blocking" can be tuned to give you no time to pass or all day to pass. Last year's biggest complaint has been fixed. Don't know why these things weren't in the release version but at least it was a patchable item.

This is one of the few times where PS3 owners actually get the patch before 360 owners. Worry thou not, when the patch comes out a very good NCAA 10 gets a whole lot better.

Im not trying to justify anything. I can give two sh*ts who buys NCAA or can't stand it. I bought it for 20 bucks using my reward zone. Since you see it as a terrible game I guess that was the last post we should see from you about it in this thread.

+1 for it being a great game. We've been playing it nonstop since it came out and have 1 year of online dynasty wrapped up. My buddies and I are having a blast, and thats all games should be about.

The video is hilarious, it's spot on, not necessarily 2010 specific but NCAA/Madden in general. I've pretty much just given up at this point thinking that they're ever really going to become very realistic, I'm just going to take them as they are from now on, which is a game that is not realistic at all but fun to play. I think my hoping that they were ever going to cater to the hardcore fan is a pipe dream, so expecting the product to be something it's not is my fault not theirs. This year I'm just going to buy it, have fun, not worry about the realism issues, and exploit holes in the AI against my friends mercilessly, lol. :)

I have been playing this game all morning and afternoon. I really like it. Erin Andrews makes it worth it alone. :D The controls seem pretty tight to me and I really like the feel of the game. The crowd sounds really good. I will play it until Madden hits like usual but I have no regrets buying it. :)

It was alright, but the achievements went by pretty quick. Only took me about 4 nights worth of playing to get the full 1000 in it. The Season Showdown was a nice added twist if not a little tedious to wrap up the strategy and sportsmanship achievements, but it helped add a some playability and thinking in to how you played the game.

The achievements have never been a great thing in these NCAA games or Madden for that matter. I think that the dynasty features are the real value for this game especially the online dynasty...that is if you get involved in an active good dynasty.

This is the first NCAA game that I've owned for the 360. What's up with the sprinting animation!?! Watching a replay of a long touchdown is embarassing because it looks like my guy is sprinting with something stuck up his butt. I don't mean to nit-pick but player's stride is about half as long as it should be.

2 issues I have ran into the game is when a penatly is called when the time has already expired it will allow the offense to play another down. It did that 3 times to me as I was called for holding each time and game was already over.

The other issue is when I threw a touchdown pass in the middle of the inzone and then the booth called for a challenge for the SPOT of the ball. The call was reversed from being a touchdown and I moved from the 15 yard line where I threw for a touchdown and the ball was spotted at the 1. :confused:

I don't know if the NCAA video games had this wrong before or not, but its been that way in the real-life college game forever. If the game was ending on defensive penalties in the game, then that was wrong/broken. And this is good fix! :D

Switching gears though, I do like the animations and smoothness of the game this year. The blatant AI cheating is still pissing me off and the defensive end that can change directions faster than my running back is a little frustrating. But hey, it's still fun.

I have one as well, that's what the nighttime is for when the wife and kid are asleep :) It has definitlely cut my gaming down for sure, I would say a good estimate would be about 60-75 less hours a month for sure the past 9 months since he was born. I would probably have a score of about 160K or so without the little guy around, but you better believe I prefer it the way it is now.

Road to Glory, other than the high school games you can sim the rest of it for the achievements. Dynasty was mainly simming, and for the bowl games just set your quarters to 1 minute and you are good to go there. Season Showdown was really the main time consumer, the strategy one being the rough one. I simply put my defensive backfield set to agressive and almost every set of downs my AI would get the INT and that is worth 15 points. So in a game with 2 minute quarters I was getting close to 150 points strategy and you only need if I recall about 800 or so points.

The only achievement that was a little rough but I was able to get it obviously was the lock and loaded one this year.

Thats my point. I loved this game on the last gen. Its almost 2010. This game should blow any last gen game out of the water by now. But there are still MANY things the last gen version did better.

For those that are interested the patch for this game is finally up. I haven't had a chance to check but I have read that is up.

I hated NCAA09 and I actually like NCAA10. Been playing it every night since it came out... And the Teambuilder while it is gimmicky.. its actually cool that I can play with my beloved Hamilton Tiger-Cats and other CFL teams... As its probably the closest I'll ever get to playing CFL based video game. :D

The names dont show up in my online dynasty, but they show up when I played my buddy in a regular online game. Not sure why that would be. Maybe b/c the commish of the online dynasty hasn't downloaded the rosters?

Anyone still playing this game? This thread has gone silent. I've been enjoying it so far, few more games and it will be the most games I've ever played in single player dynasty. Seems overall to be a little more challenging than past editions at the same level.

mboojigga, the exact same thing happened to me on a TD pass; Forcier to Matthews, he caught it, TD, it's all good, and then all of a sudden a challenge....for the spot of the ball. He was about 5 yards in the endzone. Sure enough, the play was reversed, and they put the ball on the 1" line. Silly.

Hopefully this will be a step up from 07, which was the disc being played when my last 2 machines RROD'd--highly suspicious.

I stopped buying Madden since 07, since the game had a brief pause every time I completed a pass play, excruciatingly annoying.
