Do any court shows plan on making the transition to HD within the next few months? I'm actually surprised that popular ones such as Judge Judy & The People's Court haven't made the transition yet..

Remember, judge shows are cheap to produce and make a good return. They aren't going to mess with that just to go HD in the middle of the afternoon or in the middle of the night. McDonoughDawg 07-14-09, 07:47 PM Great, now folks want FAKE court shows in HD..... kspaz 07-18-09, 12:09 PM I can't speak for People's Court (we don't air it) but out of the 5 judges we air, none have said they will be in HD next season. I was on the set of The People's Court a couple months ago in midtown Manhattan. They shoot 3 days a week every 2 weeks. The set is pretty old and is okay for 35mm film or standard definition video. The paint job imitating marble and nice wood is wearing after years. It would not stand up to HD depth of field at an f/5.6. They do not have plans to go HD at the moment I was told by a studio person. It reminded me of the Law & Order set I saw almost 2 years ago when they were shooting in Super16 film before they switched to the Panavision Genesis HD 1080p. I don't know if they rebuilt their set decoration on that very old courtroom standing set. dcowboy7 07-18-09, 12:19 PM I wish HD was around for "Night Court" because Markie Post was a hottie !! |
