Hey guys, one of the last items I am searching for is a good remote for myth-tv with built in mouse capabilities....preferably a trackball. :) I have found a few and wonder if you pros would not mind giving guidance on them or another if you have one in mind.

I have no experience with those remotes, but one piece of advice- be sure any remote with a trackball treats the trackball as a standard HID "mouse", which means it should work in Linux. Otherwise, a non-HID trackball may require proprietary Windows only drivers.

I use a Gyration GYR3101US. It's a bit pricey, and the page up/page down buttons don't work, but I absolutely love it. I bought it with the keyboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823172015), but you can get it without one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880105001). I figured it was worth the extra $25. The 4101 has an LCD display on it, but I don't think it works in linux.

Here's the mythtv wiki page on it: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Gyration-based_MCE_Remotes

The "mouse" and kb work flawlessly OOB. XBMC uses all of the remote's buttons OOB, and you can point LIRC to it for other apps. Also, it only took me about 5 minutes to teach it the IR codes for my Z-5500.

Not a trackball, but just thought I'd mention it. :)
