I am on the verge of purchasing one of these two sets. I cant decide, both have pros and cons. I know the basics...LCD for gaming and bright rooms, Plasma for darker rooms ect. Please help me decide. Any advise would be great.

After seeing the B8000 at Fry's, and I don't even like Samsung at all, I would go with that hands down! The wife and I spent an hour ogling it while the salesman tried to talk a customer into a deal. I slipped by and told the customer to take it if he was interested, we were so impressed. I forget the deal, but it was like $800 off at the price back then.

I bought the UN55B8000 last week and am still amazed at how good this tv looks! I have a bright Family Room and this tv rocks!

I don't own either but I have looked at them a lot in the stores and I would go with the plasma. I just like the picture a lot better. With all the pros and cons of each to me it just comes down to which picture looks the best to you.

With any TV, it is important to calibrate! I thought my new UN55B8000 looked great out of the box, but was amazed at how much it improved after I calibrated.
