Supposed to move to Digital Classic on Comcast by August 1. Hopefully all local areas got the memo.

Those first three weeks of Preseason ARE always interesting to me. But, as a Vikings Fan, I may yet be watching Favre in that 4th week.

It's a good thing that by then I'll have cleared out a lot of space on the 'ol TiVo XL !

I use to like the pre season games but not so much anymore they are pretty boring.

Well I guess that answers is the question, "Is every NFL preseason game broadcast in HD in at least 1 market?"

Although this is very good news, and I'm a big NFL fan, I never understood the allure of pre-season games.

So is NFLN now producing all of these games? Or are all of the local stations being required to produce the games themselves in HD now? I'm very confused. The Detroit station that does Lions preseason games (WWJ) is so cheap that they don't even have a newscast. I can't see them ponying up the cash to do all four games in HD.

Especially here in San Diego - the Padres suck (again), the Chargers make mistakes but they do make the playoffs. :D

Cheap has nothing to do with no local news. They simply don't want to lose money on it. The other local stations make money on news.

Fair enough. But still, for an O&O in a major market, it's a pretty cheaply-run station.

Well maybe they are not going to use the Detroit signal and instead get the HD from their opponents. You will just be stuck with the opposing teams announcers for each game.

It's been awhile since I've thought about it, but 2009 was the year the NFL contract with the networks called for all HD. Maybe the pre-season games were also included, even though they are with local broadcasters.

I like to watch my team in the preseason to see how the draft picks look. They will be the players of the future. The rest of the games I don't watch, but I did when I was playing fantasy.

I guess it would make sense that the NFL has some say even in the preseason TV contracts.

"baseball - zzzzzzzz."

Baseball: 15 mins. of intense activity, jam packed into three hours!

The only worst choice would be soccer!

I second that !

* But, also, my Vikes QB question will drive me crazy. This, for a Team that's had relatively consistant quality QB play over it's History, with a few short term exceptions.

Great News!
(Except for Time Warner Cable of course. No HDNet/HDNet movies or NFL Network available at any cost)

Honestly, these games are hard to watch, even if it is your favorite team.

Yes, all settled he should have stayed retired. For the second time.

I used to like preseason games to see how the draft picks were working out, but there's just too many games. I hope they add two more real games and subtract 2 pre-season games. What I do enjoy in preseason is watching the team featured on Hard Knocks that current year play to see how their featured rookies do.

I like watching the Falcons pre-season games to see Shockley play, since he never gets to during the regular season :(
