I'm new to these forums, well actually this thread is the reason i made an account, but this question has been killing me, and any help towards finding a clear-cut answer would be greatly appreciated. After looking through the dual format player threads, it seems that since the main contributers to region free threads are European, so this hasn't been an issue for them, and I'm sure I'm not the only american that wants to know.

Wow, i can't believe i missed that.:rolleyes: So the BH200 is the only one that can become region free? The BD UP5000 is useless in that department?

aye, so far....and I'd be surprised if anyone finds a code/hack at this late stage.

Beware of potential HDMI headaches (dropouts) with the BH200, though (mainly HDMI 1.2 revision receivers and earlier, as well as modern Pioneers...but this is by no means an exhaustive list)

The LG BH200 has been out of production for the better part of a year. At this point I think all the big box retailers have pretty much exhausted any remaining stock (including open boxes, demos, etc.). Your best bet is probably Ebay.

Yeah, I've actually been looking on ebay. It's weird though because they have some which are advertised as modified to be region free, even though anyone can easily do that, lol.

That's just a misleading sales tactic in order to procure more money from dummies. ;)
