Hello,
I currently have a Harmony 1000 w/extender and HATE it. I am sick and tired of the volume button getting stuck. Clearly i'm not alone... In any case, i would like to go with something else. Does the 1100 really fix the issues that are present with the 1000? Does another company make something better? I currently have a Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver and while i don't currently use the multi room audio, when my house is done I will so that is a concern for me as well if I do replace remotes.

Suggestions?

I have the 1100 and can answer any specific questions you have about it but I never had the 1000 to give a comparison. As far as the volume only, I havent had any problems at all.
