Looking at this week's Sears temptresses: LG 60ps60 Plasma vs. 55"Samsung B650. Only occasional viewing-local sports, network stuff-old movies on TCM,no gaming-1899$ vs 1999$. Can't see much else anywhere else (except maybe the BB Toshiba 55"650(seemingly stuck on 1999$). The Samsung B650 has tremendous pop, at the store, but would the big LG be more pleasing at home under general usage? (also 2" bigger/100 bucks cheaper) Been looking for a while, but prices for the sizes getting pretty compelling! [Don't want to go down to 50" & fish for stands, speakers & clickers, or would just get a Kuro 500k]. Magnolia has year old 50"Elites for 1500, but must have many thousands of hours.

I'll take that 60" LG over any 50", Kuro or otherwise.

The current LG plasmas haven't impressed me all that much. I'd gladly trade in 5" for the superior quality of the Samsung, especially if you have flexibility in your seating distance.

I'm staring at a 65" DLP that doubles as my computer monitor.

I could not go back to these tiny screen sizes if I had to.

Big screen TVs have certainly gotten smaller. Kind of like the boxes of cereal at the store.

Wish they continued to develop the dlp's. Laservision would be great if they ever hit the $2k sweet spot for, say a 73 incher, although that almost spreads out the 1080p data too wide for semi-close viewing-bring on the 1080x2!!
