Hey all,

My family is in the process of building a new home and we're planning on using a portion of the basement as a home theater. While expenses are adding up at this time, we're planning on keeping to a low budget for now, with the idea or upgrading in the near future.

For now: we have the seating and display taken care of. For the time being, we're going to use a 65" Mitsubishi HDTV as the display, but going to ask the builder for projector and speaker prewire. So pretty much for the next year we will be using a finished room in the basement to watch TV.

Since I don't have any equipment yet, whats the best way to figure out where and wiring will go. Future plans for the theater will also be on a budget and nothing fancy. Are there any additional considerations I should have while planning this all out?

Room size: ~20x~25

Thanks all

Run conduit 2" or greater from the rack to the PJ; 3/4" is fine for the speaker wires. Dolby and DTS have diagrams to tell you where. Read the 4th link in my sig.
