Ars Technica has an interesting story up about Disney adding SD cards in with DVDs and the added cost.

I read that article and thought at least a studio is aware of other formats I hope it's not locked down with DRM so I can actually use the SD card for other things such as pictures, or other files. What would be cool is if I could download the content from a kiosk and put it on my own media. Why doesn't Disney just use USB dongles I bet a few people would buy Mickey Mouse shaped dongles as well as other famous characters.
Likely it will require new hardware to playback the cards and decrypt the infected scrambled content. No thanks.
They should be doing this with blu-ray instead of dvd. In any case, I don't see too many paying the premium as it is too easy to copy dvd's now. Also, since they are including digital copies and/or dvd's with blu-ray, they probably figure it doesn't make since to try it with blu-ray.
