Is anybody using the Oppo 981 with one of the above 2 plasmas? If so do you get the macroblocking issue due to the Faroudja chip in the Oppo? Would like to know if it affects these plasmas.

I am going to buy one of these plasmas (Kuro non elite, still around in Canada or Panasonic V10) and may also get the Oppo to use with DVDs (using the PS3 for Blu-ray).

I saw it once or twice on a couple of poorly mastered black and white movies but it wasn't particularly bad, especially compared to the Onkyo 5900 I have. The Oppo BDP-83 has taken over for that unit now, except for PAL DVDs where the 981 is still used, and the 83 has no macroblocking problems plus the best upscaling/de-interlacing I have ever seen for DVD. My TV is a calibrated Kuro 151FD.
