THX mode too dark, colors are really dulled out.

custom as well on the G10. For example, watched Knowing on DVD & the scene that starts out with an American flag had the red bars of the flag look almost brownish red. Now, the set is not calibrated but I was using Cnet's reccomendations. However, as far as brightness goes, THX is plenty bright for my viewing tastes. YMMV.

Right now I'm using CNets custom settings and it looks great. I did not do any official break in, just let it run in standard mode on a lot of HD content for the first couple of days to log a bunch of hours, and then tried the custom settings and I really like the way they look.
