Hi,

I just purchased a P50G10 plasma and I'm having some concerns about reflections bouncing off the screen. Mainly, is there a way to tell if the tv is missing its anti-reflective coating as the screen seems to be a giant mirror. I've positioned the tv to avoid windows, etc. and my living room isn't very bright, but when I have the lamps on, I can clearly see one of the lamps whenever the screen is semi-dark. Again, the lamps aren't even that bright and are sitting about 10 feet or so away from the tv. The easy solution is to somehow reposition the lamp in question, but I want to make sure there isn't something wrong with the screen since all the reviews I've read speak on how great the anti-glare coatings are on this tv.

What you're seeing is normal. Even with the Anti Reflective coating, plasma TVs will always reflect direct light. The coating diffuses the reflections somewhat so they're nowhere near as mirror-like as the Tube TVs we've all been watching for upwards of 50 years and never complained about.

Thanks Randy! I'll look into repositioning the lamp then.
