Just wondering if i purchase a used remote will i have problems with acquiring the software for it? I have a tx1000 right now, can i use the tx1000 software on the mx3000?

No, you need the MX-3000 software. If the person you're buying the MX-3000 from can't provide the software, you can download it directly from URC on their website here: http://www.universalremote.com/pro/registration.php

Make sure there's a serial number in the battery compartment.
