i know there are similar threads however those mostly compare these 2 displays wheb they have same price and then mostly the panasonic is the winner

the lg costs here around 1100 euro delivered and the panasonic around 1400 euro delivered.
i mostly watch sd cable channels and movies from my htpc (1080P/24P) occasionally sports. the movies are always with subtitles so i am a little worried about the lg's ir. i now also own a lg and where the subtitles are the image is always lighter. Any owners who can advice on the ir on the lg with subtitles ?

however i think the 300 euro is a big price difference. is the panasonic worth it ? i could also go for the 46 inch panasonic which goes for 1200 euro

In general, Panasonic is rated higher than LG, but only you can decide whether the price difference is worth it to you. Note that SD cable will not look very good on any HDTV.
