Nikon has put a pico projector into a compact camera...

Pico projectors may not have the best image or be bright enough for normal viewing, but their tiny size certainly brings up some cool uses.

What I'd really like to see is a bright projector built into an iphone type of device that I could also hook up to a large monitor and wireless keyboard.
One tiny device for everything: camera, video recorder, GPS, computer, portable credit, TV, etc.
Oh yea, and a phone, too.

I think that's closer than you think... :)

The big jump, I believe, is the computer part. While you can succesfully argue that the iphone is a computer (because it is), it's simply not a replacement for a desktop or laptop. But it's certainly possible that as its computing power increases, eventually we may have a desktop dock that connects the iphone to a regular monitor and keyboard.
