I waited a lonnnnng time to replace the bulb. So long that after turning it on the final time, all I got was a whiteish picture.

New bulb is in. Same whiteish picture no real image. Does it have to be sent in for service to be taken out of its protective mode????

Does anybody know the commands to reset it without taking it in for service?

Ahh dude, this just happened to me too. I was told that my main board died and too start shopping for a new pj. I know this is exactly what you didn't want to hear, sorry bro. I still don't have a new one yet as I've been told to wait till after "Cedia", so that's probably the best advice I can give you right now...I know, sucks.
