Hey guys,

I can't get anything at all to come out of the optical output on my new WDTV. I'm going HDMI out video to my samsung ln40a650, and optical out audio to my Harman/Kardon AVR 325 with surround mode set to DTS. No audio at all, even with music and standard def content.

When i do optical out from my tv to my receiver, i get audio with everything except DTS tracks on my HD content.

I've tried 3 firmwares, whatever came on it, 1.02.07, and 1.02.10 all with the same issue.

Am i doing something wrong? Chance i got a faulty unit?

yes...i'm beginning to think that i got a faulty unit because I can't get any type of content to play over optical and i know my receiver is good and supports dts and i know my cable works

Take the (small) WDTV elswhere to test...

however if it plays everything else but DTS over optical passed through TV, I can only suspect the receiver end...
