Hello, i bought a Mit 65737 one month ago. While watching a TV show, the tv turned off and the led gone red. I turned on again and worked for 20 minutes. Now if i try to power on, green led blinking, later green led constant and after 2 minutes red led. No image, blank.
I am from Spain, so i can not send the TV to repair. I need to fix myself.
I have read solution can be replace lamp or capacitors in the electric board.
But my Tv has only 1 month of live.

You should still be under the manufacturer's one year warranty. Call Mitsubishi.

After you turn it on, try holding the power button down "for at least 8 seconds". That's supposed to force a system reset. Also, before you even try that, unplug it from the way for 30 seconds or so and then plug it in again. These things are never really "off" if they are plugged into the wall.

Thanks georule, but i have tried this too. The tv has power, but no image. I think i must change capacitors to try fixing it, but my tv has only one month of life!! :(

Get the error code-
After the Tv finishes trying to turn on, go up to the front panel and press and hold the MENU & DEVICE/INPUT buttons. A light on the front should start flashing a two digit code like- 12 or 34 or 61. The two digit code will repeat several times. Post the results.

During the time when the Tv is starting up look and listen to the back of the Tv. Does the lamp come on? Do any fans come on?

Yes, i got the error code. 66. I read this error means:

Description:
Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence
(No Lamp inserted)
(Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp)
(Lamp-Enable goes to DM but not to Ballast)


Most Likely Cause:
Loose CJ4 connector;
No Lamp Inserted;
HV connection or lead wire to lamp;
Lamp Cartridge Failure;

It is right, beacuse i can see fans moving, but lamp not turn on.

Ok, finally i have disasembled the ballast and the lamp. When i try to turn on i can see the lamp is trying to come on, blinking very fast with a poor blue light. The lamp try to come on various times, but finally the tv turn off.
Maybe i must change the lamp? With only one month old?

Yes, try a new lamp. That may fix it.

How's the air flow space around the TV? These DLPs need some space around them to blow out the hot air and have it dissipate rather than overheat the bulb. Also, what's the average temperature in the room where you use it?

It could just be a bad lamp, of course. It happens. But the reason I ask the above is to find out if the operating environment is a problem too --because if it is, the next lamp is liable to have a shorter-than-normal life as well.

It's a pity you're out of warranty territory --Mits warranty provides free bulb replacements in the first year!

Just remember, the fans on these units are pushing hot air out of the chassis. So you don't want to point an external fan at them in such a way as to make it more difficult to do that. You're trying to create air flow around the set to pull that hot air away rather than pointing a fan right at the vents that will not allow that hot air to escape.

Hello, i have received the lamp, replaced it and worked only for 2 days!!!!
The new lamp has gone too. I am going crazy. Maybe the ballast is sending wrong output voltage? Maybe my 220v to 120V transformator is the cause?
Please, any idea? :(

Certainly sounds like power problems of some sort. I doubt there's much this forum can do for you at this point, given where you are. Trying harder to make sure the source power is clean and regulated to the TV's requirements certainly sounds like a good place to start.

yeah, sounds like you need to move.

bad/inconsistent electrical supply, using a transformer, and extreme heat all could cause this individually. put them together, and you have a recipe for disaster.
