I just got the HD20. I am getting ready to mount the projector to the ceiling. I got it from Visual Apex. I got the mount from them also. I was wondering what screws or bolts did you use to actually mount the projector to the studs in ceiling. The reason I am asking is because the mount did not come with any screws or bolts to use on the ceiling. The instruction books says to use M8 bolts. Was wondering if wood screws would be good enough.

Thanks

M8 is a Metric screw or bolt, Size 8. Just use standard lag screws that fit the holes in the mount. Those are best for this application. If you've never used lag screws before, you'll need to pre-drill the holes.

Be sure you are drilling/screwing into something solid and not just the drywall. Seems obvious, I know, but I've heard of people thinking typical drywall "mollies" will handle the weight. Maybe on a lighter projector, but still, I wouldn't chance it. If the spot you want to mount it is between a rafter or second story floor joist, figure a way to get a 2x6 blocked in between those ceiling support structure. ... that's a 2x6, not 2x4. Maybe even a 2x8 to make sure you have room for the projector mounts.
