I have a panasonic TH-AE200 projector. It needs a new lamp. This is a japanese projector. I just picked up a lamp for a PT-AE200, the american version. I just want to make sure the PT bulb will work in the TH. Sometimes I think Panasonic uses conflicting model numbers. Does anyone know for sure?
I googled your PJ and looked at the manual. It seems to be the equivalent of the PT-L200. I have one sitting in my HT closet. The replacement lamp cost is ridiculous for such old tech ($425 direct from Panasonic). After 4.5 years and over 5500 hours on its original bulb my PT-L200 showed no signs of quitting. I replace it almost 2 years ago with a Panasonic AX-200. I strongly recommend upgrading the PJ, not replacing the bulb.
+1 to what BMAG said.
You won't regret the upgrade. Lots have changed in last couple of years technology wise.
