I'm going to put a Winegard GS2200 Sensar III Amplified VHF/UHF Antenna on the roof. I'll be splitting it there with this:

One line will go to the 2200's power supply and then a nearby TV.
The other line will go to a cheap GE(?) distribution amp from Home Depot, and then to 3 nearby tuners.

I need to receive channels 29, 28, 5, 25, 31, and 13.

Can I put an FM trap between the antenna and the splitter ?
Will all of this work?

Thanks

No. You are too close to the transmitters for an amplifier. Your signals have a 60 db noise margin. You could split it and still have significant noise margin.

Take a look at this antenna instead. It has no amplifier, and will get your low band channel 5.

The splitter will need to be AC/DC passive on one side only so that the DC voltage does not go out side 2 and short out. The proper product would be a Winegard CC-7870 for this application. The GS-2200 has a built in FM trap and should not require an additional FM trap. But if you wish to add one make sure the FM trap is AC/DC passive or your DC voltage from the power supply will not reach the antenna and your amplifier built into the antenna will not power up and your system will not work.

Could I use the Winegard GS2200 without the amp ?

I'm actually going to get the Channel Master CM 3010 Suburban STEALTH for another TV, but mount it in the attic. Maybe I'll get 2. I'm just afraid of the FM interference with it. Am I too paranoid ?

Thanks
