Hello everyone. I in the process of upgrading projectors. Right now I have a 3 year old Sharp xr-10x, and I love it. FWIW, I watch everything on the projector, matter of fact the only other screens in the house are the laptop and a 20" tv as my back up if my bulb blows. Was thinking about switching to a LCD but am a little wary. The main reason is brightness I plan on going big somewhere around 150". Also even though I have total light control the better half(my wife for those of you not married) needs to have some light when we watch, and when I have friends over to watch the games. I watch lots of sports so the FI on the 6500ub and ae3000 looks interesting but most say I can't go that big with either. And LCD's have such great placement options. FWIW worth saw a JVC lcos the other day and one recessed light washed out the picture. Also saw the w6000 thats coming out, looks good. So what others are out there that fit the bill for me? Also I don't have a problem waiting til after cedia if anything good is coming out. Thanks for the input.

I have an Epson 1080 projecting onto a 150", I use Dynamic mode in low lamp, colors aren't perfect, but good enough for me...and no one's complained that's come over...mostly just overwhelmed by the size of the screen.

Here's a screen shot of a baseball game when I had the Epson 810 on the
150"

The Epson 6500 should be brighter too

Nice lewke. Thanks do you watch with any lights on, or better yet any pics with lights on?

No lights in that picture.

My room is 30 feet long, projector is at 18 feet, the last 12 is the dinning room kitchen. Having the lights on in the dinning room, hardly affect sports, but does wash out movies. I have the lights on dimmers, so we adjust according to the needs at the time...

What colors are your walls, mine are white which doesn't help......so if you have colored walls you will be better off than me with some lights on.....

Walls coloar are grey an I have a BW screen. Just need some light to watch regular tv in. I watch everything on the projector. Got to find a place to see one of these in action.
