I have the 622 HD DVR from Dish Network connected to a Key Digital HD Leeza Scaler via an HDMI to DVI cable. The HD Leeza is connected to an Electrohome Marquee projector via an HDFury converter (DVI in from scaler /VGA out to projector).

Here's the problem: when my remote turns the system on, the Dish DVR does not connect (HD Leeza shows no input).

I have to pull the HDMI cable plug out of the back of the DVR and then replug it.

Then the Dish picture comes on.

Before I got the HDFury, I had the DVR connected to the scaler via component cables-it came on every time. The HDMI seems to improve the picture, so I'd like to keep using it.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Sounds like an HDMI handshake issue, do you have the scaler powered on when you fire up the 622HD?

Thanks for your help.
I just checked the macro that turns the system on.
The scaler comes on first, the Dish Network DVR is always on.
The scaler is then sent an ir signal which tells it to switch to the DVI 1 input.
That's the order.

Shutting off the DVR should only kill it's outputs, you may want to leave it off until the scaler is on and switched to the proper input then power on the DVR.

An easy test would be to power it off, run through your existing macro then manually power it on.

After several hours of tweeking the macro to turn the system on,
I am happy to report that the dish dvr hdmi is now recognized immediately
by my scaler. It was all in the order and had to add some delays.
