I have a need to distribute one comcast cable connection to 29 QAM LCDs. Longest run is 250'. Can anyone suggest specific part numbers of quality amps, and splitters?

Also, in this scenario, what would be better, splitters or taps? Or both?

Sorry I am not that educated on such a large deployment.

Buckingham Palace is it? :D Don't worry, we won't tell Comcast.

What is the layout of the place? Are the twenty nine outlets in one room? Twenty nine rooms? Five TVs in 6 rooms? All down one hallway, 4 hallways, etc? Give details, please.

You do realize, also, that you may occasionally have to re-scan with those tuners, because the cable companies often have the annoying habit of moving the clear QAM channels around now and then.

If it's a Sports Bar, or something like that, you will probably need the Cable company's boxes on every set, too....
Unless, of course, you only want locals and shopping channels.

In that case, you might as well have the Cable Guy do it all. You'd need two-way capabilities and such.

Good to see you back, Ken.

Just passin' thru once in a while.

Some of my co-workers got in a huff about me "spending too much time helping viewers". So, I had to stay away.

Then, with the FCC-mandated "Direct Help-Line to every station", and the guys all having to spend hours every day answering phone calls, they lightened up a bit.

They were jealous of your foresight. ;)

matmansd - If you really want a system that large to work reliably I would recommend calling Comcast and have them perform a survey. You're going to have to have feeder run in to the building for 29 sets and a 250' inline. Be prepared to pay accordingly, possibly a couple of grand, but again, if you don't want to waste time on a piddly, pieced together network that's what I would recommend.
