After reading and reading and more reading here, it seemed that early build BH100 players were BD region free right out of the box. So, mine being Feb 07, I figured I would gamble and try a title that is only available in region 2. Well, a package from Amazon.UK just arrived with The Crow inside which will not play. Different region code comes up on the screen. Is this due to firmware updates? I know there is a DVD hack, but is there a BD hack to go multi-region? If no one can help, anyone want a discounted Crow region 2...

Ok, an hour more reading and it can't be bd region free but can switch back and fourth. Every time I switch the fourth value in the string my TV comes up with unsupported device connected message. Thoughts? I've tried all the suggested values. 96, 8D, 20...
Ok, just switched to 02 and it works, but the video stutters. Sound is fine. Getting closer. Any ideas on the stuttering?
