I have a 60" Pioneer PRO-141FD 9th generation monitor and a monster/entech
CVSI-1 composite to component integrator(for use of the highly acclaimed 2d comb filter and vrs circuit for LD players). Do you think I should look for a X0 or X9? I read in several posts in older threads that if the display is not that big X9 is as good as X0 and has a few more benefits like 2side play, smaller size, easier to fix etc..

or I can see a difference(slight or not) even on a 60" plasma display?

I will run either of these players to entech then denon avp a1hdci pre amp with hqv realta interlaces scaler chip to pio plasma

You will see the difference on a 60 inch plasma. Go for the X0 if you have the money.

In my opinion, you will see maybe a 5 to 10% difference, but depends on the discs.
Don't forget that the X0 is not good as the X9 playing older discs (this apsect nobody mention).
Second it's very hard to find X0 parts and the ones you find are like $700 USD in case you have the "luck" to need a new pickup. (The X9 pickup is like $380 USD).
And third you can elevate the X9 to the X0 picture quality or even better by using the scaler...
Of course this is my opinion. The X0 is a great player, but does it justifies?
That's the question...

Have you really compared them side by side? I had two HLD-X9 and two HLD-X0 and tested them many times during 2-3 years on CRT FP, CRT tv's, DLP, LCD, etc.
In my opinion, the X0 is clearly the better AND it is even better on older discs, not the other the way around! That is the main reason I almost only used the X0, because most discs I had was older ones, and the X0 kicked the X9 as every time.

I don't think you can get as good quality as the X0 for a X9 and a scaler, because the damaged is already done in the player. The noise, that X9 produce and X0 don't, anr not going away with trhe scaler.

I do agree that the problem with spare parts and the problem that so few can repair the X0, is something to think about. But if one has the money, go for it. Life is to short.

How bad is finding parts for X0? Are there anyone in the US who can work on a X0? I see several X0s on google auction japan for $2300-2600 and nicholas from japan asks $5000+(for an average condition one). I know he gets them serviced by pioneer japan and can provide parts but for the money he asks I can buy 2 and double my chances. He asks $8000 for a low use, mint condition one. honestly i dont care for some small scratches and normal wear.
