Can anyone direct me in rebooting my S1000? I believe the battery died, causing it to not boot. All the unit will do is display 'Soundserver'. The tray will not open & it will not respond to any commands from the remote.

I used Knoppix to examine my hard disk. It's a place to start to confirm that your disks are at least ok. There is likely a log file you can look at to see if there is a point where booting is failing. It's been a few years since I poked around at mine.

Thanks for the update. I believe the internal battery went out, which happened once before, years back. Its $350 to have Elan, the new owners of Imerge, look at it.
