if i import a game from EU that is not being released in the US:

will i be able to download and install any updates that may occur over the games life?

will i be able to purchase and install downloadable content to the game?

i want to buy Supercar Challenge now after playing the Beta, but it is not being released in the US, at least not anytime soon. it is being released in other countries on Sept 4th.

You would need a UK account to access their store and get any DLC that comes out. I don't know about payment, I know it can be difficult/impossible to pay with a US card in some store regions. But free stuff wouldn't be a problem.

so a regular update to the game wouldn't be an issue? it seems a lot of games have glitches when they first come out and it would be nice to know if i will still be able to get the software patches to fix any possible issues.

i'm not to worried about downloadable content, but was just curious. i think i read somewhere that downloadable content isn't region free like all the discs are.

side note: this game rocks. any GT fan would love this game. it's a shame it's not coming to the US.

i have a UK account. thats the only way to try the beta. the beta is only available to people in EU. the game is a disc, it's from the PSN store.

i know that PS3 games are region free, but what i want to know is will any patches to the game be available for me to download and install if needed. i'd like to know if i will have support for the game after i buy it before i buy it.

I asked these same questions to Eutechnyx before I ordered my copy of SCC from the UK.

Yes we can race online, yes we can get updates & DLC through the EU Playstation store although we may need to get Playstation pre-paid cards to pay for the DLC.

I've got the UK PES2009 and any patch that Konami releases for the game gets downloaded automatically. Purchasing DLC would require a UK PSN account and you'll have to get prepaid cards from the specific region for it to work.

cool. thanks. :)

i'm still debating whether or not i'm going to get this game or not, but at least now i know. to many racing games coming out soon. i need to pick one or 2. GT5 is a definite when it comes out. but i need something soon to hold me over until GT5 gets here, idk if i want SCC, NFS Shift, or Dirt 2. i have a wheel and looking for something more on the Simulation side of things.

I was about to wag my finger and say 'nuh-uh-uh,' but EU PSN cards were recently announced. Finally. I tried to get a UK prepaid credit card so I could buy songs from the UK singstore, but they're not available to US residents.

Hopefully there is an easy source for UK cards here in the US.

If simulation is what you want, then you're in luck. There are 3 awesome games coming out GT5 (PS3), Forza 3 (360) and Need For Speed: Shift (multi-plat).

You can't go wrong with either of these 3 because each will offer you an experience that the other doesn't.

Ebay?
I try not to use eBay, sort of like I try not to use Wal-Mart.

I buy lots of games from other regions, and haven't run into any problems yet.

Are you sure it isn't being released?

Last I read, they were hopeful and expected to release it in the United States. We didn't get Ferrari Challenge: Trofeo Pirelli until 7-8 weeks after Europe did.

If Europe will be getting PSN cards, that's great news. Should make getting Outrun Online Arcade easier and getting things like the DLC pack for Ferrari and anything for this new game.
