I always hear people saying not to put your speakers right by walls. This is always stressed for the fronts. Why is ok for the sides and rears being right on the walls?

I know about supposed wild sound waves or something, but whats the real difference?

Then you have inwall and in ceiling speakers. I have read up some, but would kind of like the "WHY NOT TO DO THIS FOR DUMMIES" version.
