I missed out on this demo of Sony's now scrapped project to give GT4 a HD makeover with online play and possibly microtransactions. By the time I purchased a PS3, it had disappeared from the PSN store.

I was curious, is it possible to get it through game sharing from someone who had downloaded it when it was readily available?

It still shows up in my download history. Is it more a curiosity of yours to play it? You can pick up GT5P very cheap.

Does anyone know if GT HD uses an activation? Or can you share it without having to authorize the console? I can share it with you if it doesn't use an activation slot.

There is a limit of 5 consoles a PSN ID can be activated on. So as long as the person sharing their account with you hasn't used up all five activations, you can download anything from their download history list; regardless if it's a free game or not.

You don't activate a PSN id, you log in with it. There's no limit on how many different consoles you can log into with a PSN id.

DLC however only has 5 activations (Though you can uninstall and gain back a activation).

Are you just assuming free DLC also only has 5 activations? I would've assumed it would've been pointless to have it be anything other than unlimited.

I think it's interesting that they don't remove the actual file from their servers, only the link pointing to it (assuming you don't have it in your dl history).

Everything that I've heard about sharing is that the 5 activations are on the account level and not on each individual piece of DLC.

Well that wouldnt make sense because if you trade a lot that would put you in trouble after only five times. It's on each item as far as I can tell.

Also try some of the foreign PSN stores. That's how I found the GTHD demo a while back.
