Trying to figure out if my Toshiba 57" from around 2003 is worth repairing or not.

I can try to provide more detail and/or pictures/video if it will help, but I will just go into the basic symptoms now.

Whenever I first turn on the tv the signal is all screwed up and unwatchable/unreadable the whole screen is wavy and scrambled. At first after 10 minutes or so the screen would clear up and look fine with perhaps a slight wave every now and then.

However, now it takes about 30 minutes and it never fully clears up.

I'm curious as to whether or not this will be worth fixing. It will take $55.00 to drop the tv off to be looked at, which will be applied toward the cost of the repair. The repair will be between $150~$250 + parts.

Thanks,
Phillip

Tiny capacitors on the Hypermodule need to be replaced. The capacitors are cheap, labor is not. DIY takes very good solder skills.

OK thanks,
So if the $150~$250 is based mostly on how much labor this will take, would you think this should be closer to the $150.00 and then ~$50.00 in parts? so hopefully around ~$200.00ish if I'm lucky, but should be less than ~$300.00ish

Thanks again
