I understand the prime 3.0 do simulataneuos HDMI and coaxial/optical audio out. Does anyone know if it can do simultaneous analog and coaxial/optical out?

Not sure. I connect the Dune to a WHS (Server). Not sure how you do it through shared drives on a PC. Shouldnt be too hard. You may have to set up SMB shares on the PC drive. You can probably see some files via PnP but won't have access to ISOs mkvs, etc. Somebody like dbone would know better.

Username/Password would be the username/password that you use to access your PC. What O/S are you running, W7?

Yes, Win 7. I log on with password x, user is probably administrator or my PC name XX. Tried that, zero no access. I have no idea what the dune want from me.

Do you have your files in the root folder of your drive or are they nested on at least one folder deep?

Everyone is enabled,files are in folders. I see all drives, but have no access.

You should put the movie folders on a folder that sits on the root folder.

Example: e:\Movies\{movie folders}

Then you should set the sharing for that first folder and not the drive itself (root)

Done, still asks for user name/password. Could be problem Trend Micro ?
Now the drives are visible with folder names, user is guest ( default ) but can't figure out the password. Why must I use user name/password if share is to everyone ??

Problem solved, it was Trend Micro.

Except .avi files everything stutters after few seconds/minutes.Is the problem bad cable , wrong settins or what ?? HDMI cable is 1.3 and is OK. Have the same problem with xstremer but only with AVCHD format, mkv playback was good.

Are you using wifi or a wired connection?

Works fine from USB stick, I need new 1GB lead. So one more problem solved on the forum.Regards.

Well I got the lead but the box still only plays fine through USB port, I'll replace the box. Lucky me.

Ditto. I'd love to see them incorporate the feedback on the current generation into the newer devices (e.g. native output/source direct video switching, 1st party media library, Netflix, etc.).

Cannot use logitech Harmony 670 with my Dune Base 3.0.
Dear dbone1026 or somebody else who knows.
I set the program "Computer" from Device then "Media Center PC", "Dune" from manufacturer and type "HD BASE" under model. I have a green check mark under status.
After I successfully updated my harmony remote, I can't control my Dune Base thru the remote except up and down with arrow keys.
I have latest harmony software, 7.7 version.
Do I need a IR receiver like I did with my PCH C-200? Or am I missing some thing in program setup?
I have the same problem when, in another way, I tried to teach the remote.

Just looked at devices in my Harmony 659 remote. I added my Roku via DVD, so I added Dune by selecting DVD and then I entered "HD Base 3.0" as pwlcheng suggested. This seemed to work though it did save it as Media Center PC. I then checked out the setting via Customize Buttons and there was much more available than up and down with the cursor keys, plus you can add and customize what button does what on your remote from this section.

Try "HD BASE 3.0" under model and see if it makes any difference.

Odd it didn't work. I have a Dune BD Prime and had no issues setting up with the Logitech 890 and 900, I would assume the base would work the same way. I think I chose HDI Dune under the Media Center PC area

EDIT - I just tried again and have no problems finding Dune in the Logitech Software, it is under:

I can also add the device as a Media Center PC as well as a DVD device. Either way, the device is saved as Media Center PC and the button functions look identical in teh Customize Buttons section.

In other words, I couldn't use "OK" button on harmony remote to move from place to place, open folder, or play a movie file like "Enter" button on Dune remote.

ok and return i had to assign in the logitech harmony software. it takes 2 minutes to assign. you should have no problems doing either

That's why I always look at, and have mentioned here, the Customize Buttons function.

Remap the functions that aren't working or found in your current setup to somewhere else on the remote. It's easy with the Harmony software.

Any of you guys know if this Dune player can play .IFO files (i.e. the ripping strcture from a DVD - I think the IFO files takes care of the navigational features on a DVD). To be overly clear, can I press go on an IFO file and get the whole DVD navigation in order for me to play the film with my choice of language and subtitles etc, special features and so on?

Why would you go to the IFO file :confused: When you select a DVD folder rip the Dune will start playback just as if the disc was inserted (menus and all), you don't need to manually select the IFO file

That is even better. It behaves as my Tvix then. I wasn't sure if it had the functionality to plays these VIDEO_TS folders directly with DVD navigational content.

You know what, it probably works for both. All it does is basically render your jukebox on your Android device, and both Zappiti and yaDIS should be the same in that respect.

Any Base 3.0 owners that have installed an internal SSD (2.5"), how did you install it? Did you go with the 2.5"-to 3.5" adapters or did you find another way to get it into the hot-swap bay?

I am doing the whole Dr. Who series and have a folder for each doctor with a picture for each one.
In each folder I wish to have a list or pictured folders like the first to see many at a time.The subfolders dont list or able to have an array of folders as I 1st open folder does.Is there away to do it so when I open the 1st folder and inside is a list or rows of folders with pictures.At the moment I can only see one folder at at time in the 1st subfolder and have to scroll to see each movie one at a time.

My Dune 3.0 has been acting up lately. I'll try to play any file, avi or mkv, and it will start to stutter. Once I powered it down, unplugged from the socket, started up again the movie would play fine. Now not so much...it keeps stuttering and will not play.

The same files will play fine on my Dune D1. Both players are on the same network with the same exact settings.

Any ideas? Or is this Dune player going out. I bought it back in July 2010 from Mike @ duneplayer.com

Try playing the same file from an attached hard drive to rule out network issues or the network interface on the Dune. Yes, I know you said both are on the same network with the same settings, but just do it! :-)

Thanks for the suggestion. I tired it out and the file plays fine. So it must have something to do with the connection?

Both players literally plug into the same Trendnet switch that plugs into the Asus RT-N56U router.

Asus ---> Trendnet ---> Dune D1, Dune 3.0

Is it easy to swap network connections? Unplug the cable from the back of each Dune and swap them? You could possibly discover a cable or switch issue.

I have a prime 3.0 and a previous firmware upgrade seems to have broken my ability to play MKV files... My BD ISO's work fine, but MKV's take forever to start and are unplayable (1 frame per sec or so). I know they have played fine in the past, but can not remember which firmware I was running

I believe I am running the latest beta... (from January)

Any insight would be appreciated.
