I am contemplating on getting the WD-82737 over the smaller size because the TV would fit the recess in my living room better and it adds more "wow" factor in terms of size.
My question is: For those that do own the 82" version, are you still happy with the purchase?

You may get more responses if you post this on the Mits 737/837 thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1142582
I don't have the 82", but I'm very pleased with my 65837.

I have the 82837 and love it. It was calibrated by Dave Abrams of Avical and it is awesome. I have zero regrets...
I have the 82737, and the tuner in it is crap. If you are planning on receiving an OTA signal, you might want to reconsider.

I have a Sony 46" XBR4 and it is using over the air signals and I get a whole bunch of digital HD signals over the air.
Why is this unit having trouble picking up OTA signals, especially 1080i HD signals?

guapote,
Glad to hear you are enjoying your calibrated Mitsubishi. For the size, it is hard to beat. Though perhaps a front projector may be somewhere in your future. ;)
All the best,
Dave

Sorry, just saw your post. I really don't know the answer to this. The Mits rep claims that the larger the display, the more DB required to pull in a signal, but I have a feeling that is nonsense. All I know is that I had the tuner replaced, and it still stinks. I am in a fringe area, but have other sets, and tuners that work fine with a less than ideal signal.
I also would say that the large screen is not as bright as the smaller screen, so it lacks some of that punch. In addition, probably due to size, the image quality is sub-par in my opinion. I think the size exaggerates the less than quality image this set produces.
If I had it to do over again, I would not have purchased this set, and I would never purchase a Mitsubishi again. They just seem to keep making their remotes, and menu system worse, with every generation, and the quality appears to be going down as well.
