Hi,

I am building a new house and designing my Home theater.

My room for HT is 12'4" x 23'. My screen will be 135 inches(Elite Screen-R135WH1-A). I am planning to have 2 rows with 3 seat recliners in each row.

I currently have Optoma EP719 projector and want to use it temporarily. I am planning to have a raiser with 12" inches with 6" small step.

My budget is about $8000 for 6 seats,7.1 speakers, scones, lights, acoustic panels, star ceiling and raiser.

My questions are I will have 1ft on each side of screen, so can I have in wall speakers? I am looking into polk in wall speakers. Any recommendations on speakers for my price range?

What is the throw distance of my projector to the screen? I am getting 19'10" per following calculator. Should I keep at 19'10"?

What should be the distance from screen to 1st row of seats?

What should be the step length?

Regards,
Pat

I already have Onkyo TX-SR706 Receiver,DVD Player. My main purpose is watching movies with 16:9 screen.

That's a big screen if it's 16:9. Is it or is it 2.35:1 ? How high is your ceiling?

You've selected a 12" RISER without knowing your seating distances/sightlines - is there a specific reason you decided on this height for a riser?

Have you given any thought to putting your speakers behind the screen instead of beside (below/above) the screen?

It is for 16:9. Ceiling is 9 foot.
I did not thought about keeping the speakers behind the screen. I am not sure how to do it. Do we still get enough sound as we do other ways?

There is no reason for 12" raiser. I am just thinking this will be enough height. I will be having 2 rows with 3 recliners(Berklines).

Why dont you start with this ... Here is a excellent theatre calculator (http://carltonbale.com/home-theater/home-theater-calculator/) ... this will help you decide on seating distances, screen size, riser height etc
