Here is my dilema: I can't decide if i need 5.1 or 7.1 or .2 also I dont know if I can put a projector with the 100" screen on the long wall. Please advice.

24 feet long is enough to put in 2 rows and a bar behind the 2nd row. I'd definately go with 7.1 for that room. You might even be able to squeeze in a false wall on the stage to hide your fronts.

I must be missing something... where is the 24 ft long room? What is your plan for where you want the screen? What is the layout of the proposed room look like?

You'll get a better response if you show us what you think you would like to do and then we can tell you what is right with your layout and especially what is wrong with it ! :-)

I am plaining on setting the screen on the wall where fireplace is. See attachment. Would Energy Take Classic 5.1 sound be too small sound for the room that size?

I am planning on setting the screen on the wall where fireplace is.

If that's the case, I'm leaning toward a 5.1/.2 setup since you're limiting yourself to 12'-8" of depth. Pretty narrow to squeeze 7 channels in there. You also might want to consider rotating your setup 90 degrees counter-clockwise so the screen is on the short wall (where the window is).

Concerning the speaker selection you listed and 1 or 2 subs...that's a personal choice and dependent on your budget. If you currently listen to movies through built-in TV speakers, anything is going to sound exponentially better. As others have mentioned, there's really not enough information here to go into any greater detail.

I think you are probably not in the correct forum for what you are trying to do. However, the $400 TIB that you list seems to be well liked for the price range it is in.

My suggestion... get the TIB, the screen and a projector (or a 52" LCD). Throw in a big comfortable couch and a popcorn maker and go to town.

I have a budget for sound for up to $1200 including AVR.

Here are my considerations for speakers and AVRs:

1 $199.77 Energy TAKE CLASSIC 5.0 Gloss black Take Classic series 5 speaker surround sound set. I already bought the sub that comes with this set from costco for $100 (I might keep it if I decide to go with .2 system) Pros: price, black finish, good sound for its size? Cons: small size limits sound?

2. or just found this deal on Vann's web site:
Four Energy RC Mini speakers, an RC Mini CC center, and ESWC10 subwoofer, all for $699 Scroll down near the bottom of the RC Mini product page to find the 5.1 combo deal. ( I can't post URLs because i'm a newbee) Pros: sound? nice size, wood cabinets. Cons: Cherry finish i prefer black.

3. or Energy Take Series Speaker Package - Silver for $669.00 on World Wide Stereo web site.
Package Includes:1 pair Take TWR, 1 pair Take LCR, 1 Take FPS and I'll keep the sub that I got from Costco. Pros: it is biger than the first two so I assume better sound. Cons with that set it is silver and aluminum instead of wood? not sure if aluminum is a con though.

As far as AVRs I’m trying to decide between these two:
Onkyo TX-SR607 or Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K right now I have Sony 52.

I'm leaning toward 5.1 set up too. The narrowness concerns me too if I decide to go with larger screen ( currently i have a Sony 52" LCD and it looks ok, but if I double that with projector it might be toooo big ) Plus are there projectors that will project to fill 100" screen from 12'? (sorry if it is a stupid question). I was thinking about puting projector on the wall where windows it, but wife wont aprove it....

Thanks!

Sorry I meant: I was thinking about covering the window wall with the screen....
