I'm torn which direction to go between these two to replace my 7-year old 57" HD RP Sony. Most of my viewing on the replacement will be DirecTV HD - especially lots of NFL. I won't watch much movies on this replacement since blu-rays are viewed on a much larger home theatre system (DLP projector).

I've seen the Panasonic V10 Plasma do blu-ray and it was certainly amazing, but the various stores don't have a HD TV feed. I actually like the Samsung Plasma better than the Panasonic but I'm concerned about the buzz issue.

And in my area, there does not appear to be a store nearby carrying the Mitshubishi (not even Best Buy), but after perusing many threads it appears DLP can compete against Plasma - especially when it comes size vs $. However size isn't everything - hopefully that's not a blasphemous statement :)

Given all that, I'd appreciate comments on those who've seen HD DirecTV on either of these TVs. Is the 'wow' factor really there on Plasma when it's HD DirecTV?

I'm actually leaning towards the Mitsubishi, stepping out in faith if you will, based partly on my DLP projector and the fact that my old RP Sony still produces a pretty darn crisp picture.
