I'm looking at getting a media player to use with our portable projector at home and to take upstairs from time to time to hook up to the TV. I've been studying up as much as possible over the past several days and want to figure this out sooner than later.
I already have an HTPC, Xbox 360 and a PS3 which can handle a lot of media. What I want is a box that is more portable, that can store digital copies of movies (Xvid, MKV) and can hook up to my projector. The ability to connect online would be a bonus too. Wireless/Network is a must.
My portable projector only has VGA and composite inputs. Of the AC Ryan Playon!HD, eGreat 32B, Elektron 606, only the Elektron seems to have VGA built in, but I guess I can buy an adapter for VGA to component.
Which of these units as far as features, value for money, future support and portability would be the best for my needs? Are there other units I should be looking at? Keys are that I want something that has an internal drive, is portable and can play Xvid, MKVs (and possibly AVCHD). I love gadgets so I'm real excited about getting one of these. Thanks in advance.
