I just moved into a large house that is broken up into about 6 different rental units. The unit the I live in does not have a great cable reception. A lot of the channels are fuzzy and have a lot of noise. Some channels are so bad I can't even see them, low channels are terrible.

What I need to know is if there is something that I can connect directly from the cable out from my wall that will boost my signal so I can get a better reception. Football starts this week and I really could use some urgent help.

If you have specific items I could use I would appreciate it. Should I just buy a DTV cable box and signal into the public free tv for my football or do you have a solution for me.

Thanks

I'd call the cable company and have them diagnose and resolve the problem.

Agree!
If you have a poor/bad signal coming into your home, all of the amps in the world won't help. All you will do is amplify a bad signal. ;)

If all the channels are snowy across the board, there is not enough signal coming in....maybe a bad Cable-company installed drop amp is bad (or, just unplugged).

If some analog channels have intermittent herringbone patterns, there may be ingress from two-way radios, possibly made worse by very low signal levels.

If the low-band channels, like 2-6 and 14-22 are snowier than the higher channels, there may be a bad connection somewhere, usually caused by corrosion on the center wire of a connector.

The Cable company needs to come check everything out.

Are you only watching the analog channels fed directly into your TV.
Do you have a device with a QAM tuner?

Just curious to see if this is analog only or is there pixilation on any digital channels.

But as advised a few times above you should have the cable-co come and look!!
