View Full Version : Loveseat into two seats?

I was wondering if anyone has converted a Berkline loveseat into two individual seats?

We have a set of the 85 (I think - the now discontinued "Star Trek" models) with two curved seats on either side of an armless love seat. However in our new home we only have room for 3 wide, but can go 2 rows! So I was thinking of just cutting the front and back floor bar on the love seat to create two armless single chairs and then use the spare for the middle in the second row flanked by two new chairs - we'll need to find something similar-ish and just get the matching leather color.

So has anyone tried this, or agrees that it's doable? It certainly looks like it's built as two individual seats and just joined by the front and back floor bars. Two cuts in the steel, and voila?!

Cheers,
David.
