I just bought a popcorn hour 110 off ebay last weekend and than on monday bought the 360Elite from target. Man I feel guilty as hell for spending that much cash on me in a couple of days. So my need for the PCH was to stream my backed up movie collection (all backed off DVD/ no down loads with werid codecs) off my PC and be able to watch them on my TV in the basement theater. Could I just do this with the Elite? Would it still pass tru all the DTS and other sound formats straight through to my AVR? All I really want is to be able to stream backed up DVDs. Thanks

I would use the PCH. I have a 360 and stopped using it for streaming a long time ago.

I would agree with the prior post......Use the PCH.. I also stopped streaming with my 360 a long time ago after I got the WDTV for my media server........Dont get me wrong, the 360 worked fine, however I had to use the Tversity program as the media server from my PC to the 360 and when the 360 couldnt actually transcode a format itself, Tversity ate up too much resources and slowed down my pc and you couldnt do things like RR & FF with Tversity doing the transcoding either....The 360 will decode DTS and DD 5.1 and H.264, but it wont do MKV either without the help of Tversity.....So basically using the 360 as a NMT is possible, but more of a hassle than its worth in my opinion, now that there are many better options availible, and the PCH should be able to transcode most formats you throw at it right out of the box.............

I use my PS3 and xbox360 for streaming. PS3 media server works for both. Whenever the PS3 cannot stream something that is microsoft propriatory I use the xbox360. It can stream your DVDs. And you do not have to set up PS3 media server any different it finds both consols without any problems.

I'm using the xbox for a lot of WMV and occasional divx stuff, but in general i'm looking to get a streamer for non WMV content.

it seams when i am streaming my movies from my computer to the xbox 360 or my linxsys terminal I have an issue with the video and the audio syncing up. My audio is faster then my video and it drives me nuts.
Any solution for this.
My files are wmv and wma but I still have issues. Suggests? programs?
I have been using the media portal within media center.

Depends on the codec. I mainly stream thru my PS3 because I have had it longer than my 360. But there are some microsoft codecs I can only play thru the 360.

The only thing I know is if you are running your audio thru a receiver that has audio sync as an option like my Yamaha. It might correct the problem.
